Articles Lodging on the Santa Fe River, Alachua County, Florida

I also want to tell you that I saw a tiny deer lapping water from the Santa Fe River. When I sit still and wait, I notice things moving. Something moving on the Santa Fe River bank looks like a cat across the river. But, maybe it's a coyote. But no, it turns its head and I see those pointed ears and tiny, thin legs. S/he's all alone there wandering upriver, away from her herd. S/he's the color of tree bark, so the legs look like saplings, until they walk. All you have to do is be there and wait. You'll see something wild if you are patient.
